This Good Watch features Patrick Depailler in a Tyrrell 008 during the 1978 Montreal Grand Prix weekend. The Tyrrell 008 followed the famous P34 six-wheeled machine and signaled a return to conventional design practices for the team. In the cockpit of the 008, Patrick scored his first win and several podiums during the ’78 season. Featuring a Cosworth V8 and six speed Hewland transmission, the 008 was the predecessor to Tyrrell’s first ground effects car which arrived in 1979.
