The FZ6 is a popular bike but many have belied the subpar forks. With the R6 being a more formidable option, and being widely available, the addition of R6 forks to the FZ6 platform is a no brainer. Specifically, the 2003 to 2004 R6 forks and blue dot calipers are a nice upgrade, but do require some bits to make it work.
This swap is well documented and i found a very helpful page with many of the specs and drawings to do this. Unfortunately for me, I had already reverse engineered the Yamaha parts and machined them in house before finding that page, but I did use a slightly modified version of the fender bracket design for my setup.
My axles spacers include the grime slots at the seals, and instead of doing an aluminum fender bracket I did an engineering grade 3d printed design with a brass heat set insert.
This successfully will adapt the R6 forks to your FZ6. Some modifications to brake lines may be required.
The kit comes with everything in the photo above.
